What is Important?
- Introductory story What is important to you?

Definitions
- Autism/Aspergers disorders are considered syndromes. i.e. they are SYMPTOMS having a cluster of variable developmental delays, unusual behaviours etc. They are not specific conditions and therefore may have many underlying causes and/or combination of causes. Disposition may run in families, older parents seem more at risk. Even minders of other peoples special children are at risk. These conditions affect the body, including the brain. The 'experts' have no idea. The rest are after the $
- Classic Autism and Symptoms - Possibly early brain damage at birth or before (or after)- (Let's blame the parents for exposing themselves to the environment) Some children with mental retardation or epilepsy show symptoms of brain damage, SYMPTOMS of Autism. Some have genetic differences/defects, as shown in their physical appearance. Some even think this covers all Autism conditions.
- Autism Syndrome Brain regression, from various stresses affecting body. Some believe the brain regresses to a Autistic state for survival reasons. After all it is probably a built in behaviour reacting to stressful environmental influences. Latest Neuro-scans has found reducing blood flow to Frontal lobes. A problem that develops from Kidney poisoning. Vulnerability to everything, allergies and viral infections, are very common. Has disturbing similarities to Mercury poisoning.
- The causes are almost certainly both environmental and disease based,
not directly genetic.
ie Individuals have an ability, to cope with the environment, behaving and exhibiting symptoms to do the very best they can. - Autism Syndrome is the condition - when symptoms of 'disease or virals or poisoning' occurs. These afflictions occur earlier, than in ADHD, Schizophrenia, Bipolar, Chronic fatigue syndrome - which are similarly on the spectrum.
- The infection spreads from the kidneys and gut to all the organs including the brain.
- Symptoms are the body trying to fix things. To suppress symptoms is folly IMO
The myth of modern medicine is: If the patient can't see the symptoms, he thinks he is cured. It's just the opposite. No wonder many people seek advice elsewhere: Behaviourists, Witch-doctors etc. - There are no (credible) published papers yet, which have found a genetic link to Autism.
However Dr A Bailey believes a gene, of many responsible he claims, for the various conditions of Autism, could be identified. Some are now speculating that although they can find no structural evidence, perhaps the orientation or the genes environment are now to blame. Puzzling, few other lines of enquiry have been seriously funded. Drug company sponsored money is in control.
Unless parents observing their kids, solve the unasked questions for them, nothing will change.

Normal blood tests don't show a lot, Usually kidney results are marginal. Many find hair analysis tests useful in displaying the bodies inability to detox. Studies are looking at virals, toxicants, pollution, mercury, stool and urine content, IgA and IgG with subclasses, autoimmune disorders including anti-NAFP neural axion protein, food and inhalant allergies related to IgE and IgG, sleep EEG, QEEG, CEEG, Thyroid profile, toxic metals, inborn errors of metabolism, hyperAmmonium, Fragile-X chromosome analysis, beta casomorphin and glutomorphin. CT scans are normal in Autistics. In Autistics, 80% have an infection, 20% have no yeast. 20 to 40% have Giardia and other growth, including parasites. Urine test include arabinose, as well as tartaric, DHPPA, citric, glyceric and lactate acids. Sugar and refined carbohydrates in diet boost arabinose and lactate, respectively. (See Treatments) 93% of Autistics test positive to myelin antibodies. Doctors who are reluctant to have tests performed for Autism may do so if it's called an Auto immune disorder or borderline kidney dysfunction. 20% of Autistics have low IgA; have abnormal cytokines; have defects in function and number of lymphocytes; and fail to clear pathogens (85% have yeast, 35% clostridia). Food lectins act like major agglutination factors that affect immune status. Interesting: Over 90% of Autistics are blood type A. Excitoxins include soy isolate, MSG, caseinate and aspartame (nutrasweet). Many respond to anti-viral treatments such as regular low dose zinc supplementation or diluted cider vinegar.

Autism-Mercury Discussion Group

Pharmaceutical companies know that the timing of doses in antiviral prescription drugs
is usually critical for treatment success. 'if the timing between doses is too long,
you will have a significant viral rebound. The amount of the drug in the blood

- Drugs and doctors are useful for disguising symptoms. Not known for curing anything though.
- Few things are as effective as a placebo, belief, action, common sense, hope and change.
The enzymes responsible for breakdown of peptides have been irreversibly bound to toxic heavy metals which have entered the body. Correction of the electrolytic balance in terms of metals will permit enzymatic activity to restart. Practitioners tend to use low doses of molybdenum salts to assist this process. Since the enzymes require vitamins and trace elements to function, these should be included in the diet. Thus dietary supplements containing vitamins (of the B group) together with appropriate minerals (Zinc and Magnesium in particular) would be appropriate.
Switch antifungals (yeast) over time to reduce resistance. Or try No-Fenol. Clostridia killer metronidazone benzoate (flagyl @ 250mg) Often high dose lactobacillus will do as well with fewer side effects. Parasites are sensitive to Flagyl, but not always effective until Immune system is better.
Once again specialists are looking at little pieces of our children, seeing yeast infections, coeliac, etc. and neglecting to see the whole picture. Yes, these specialists are taking parents observations seriously and I give them credit for that. Until recently, most of the medical profession and scientific community did not believe that children with autism even had gastrointestinal problems. In my opinion many of these children have a pervasive metabolic disorder that will effect every test the specialists choose. And because of that disorder they are going to respond to changes we make in their diets, vitamin supplements, etc. We all separately stumble upon this treatment or that diet that works well for our kids, all the while doing nothing to treat the basic problem they are having metabolising ANYTHING that goes into their systems. (i.e. Kidney problems) Sometimes to change the child, requires big changes from us. E.g. Home, environment, nutrition, medication, rules, attitudes, beliefs, stress or schooling etc. Maybe you need to be different too. It may not be so important what you do, but the act of change, to cause a change. It is never too late unless you say it is. Early intervention is the initial hope of success. Hope that the child may grow out of it, or somehow the cause is removed. That is all most (Doctors) have to offer.
